Dauntless engine in 1:72 scale is a resin replacement engine from Quickboost for a model of this American carrier dive bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory from Quickboost brings an exactly cast radial engine for a model of the American Douglas SBD Dauntless carrier dive bomber in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but a replacement part that will replace the simplified engine from the box with a faithful casting with crisply suggested cylinders and ignition harness.
The SBD Dauntless was a carrier dive bomber of the US Navy that played a key role in the Battle of Midway. It was powered by an air-cooled Wright Cyclone radial engine whose front is clearly visible in the mouth of the engine cowling. A faithfully cast radial with fine cylinder and harness detail gives the nose a depth that the smooth plastic from the box cannot offer.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent because of mold release residue. Cut off the casting blocks carefully with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the engine before you glue it into the cowling and bring it out with a dry brush and a wash so that the cylinders and the harness show.
The accessory is supplied as a resin replacement part, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
