De Havilland Mosquito Mk VI Big set is a more extensive Black Dog detail set for models in 1:72 scale. The brand uses the qualifier Big set for its most comprehensive range of accessories for a given type.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is meant to improve a Mosquito model already bought; it does not hold the aircraft itself. The brand uses the qualifier Big set for the most extensive version of its accessories for a single type, so the reach tends to be wider than that of the partial sets.
The de Havilland Mosquito FB Mk VI fighter-bomber was among the most successful versions in the whole family. Construction from plywood and balsa gave it low weight, and a pair of Rolls-Royce Merlin engines then gave it a speed that no defense could cope with for a long time. It carried cannons and machine guns in the nose, bombs or rockets under the wing, and it became famous for accurate low-level raids, for instance on the prison at Amiens. It served with the Royal Air Force and with Coastal Command.
First lay out which areas of the model you will leave exposed; on the Mosquito the nose with the guns and the cockpit space suggest themselves. Glue the parts one at a time and dry-fit them before the primer goes on. The wooden airframe had no riveted seams, so the patina should be subtle: rubbed-back paint at the edges of the panels rather than sharp dark lines.
You secure the Mosquito kit and the modeling chemicals separately.
