The real subject

The Su-27 is a large twin-engine fighter with a smooth transition between the fuselage and the wing, two vertical tail surfaces and air intakes under the fuselage. The design was driven by the demand for great range and the ability to fight at long and short distances alike, which matches a bulky fuselage with internal tanks. The single-seat version has a lower fuselage spine and a different cockpit from the two-seat trainer pattern, so the right type of kit is needed for the build.

How the decals are applied

Before application, paint the model and spray it with gloss clear coat, otherwise a matte veil will appear under the film. Cut the decal out as closely as possible, dip it in lukewarm water and let it rest for a few tens of seconds on the paper backing. Move it onto the model, line it up and soak the surplus water up. The bold designs on the nose and the vertical surfaces are best laid on in one go, because putting them together from several pieces tends to show on a smooth surface. Once dry, unify the surface with a matte or semi-gloss varnish.
