A Dornier Do 17Z-3 Finnish Air Force set in 1:72 from AML moves your model toward the reconnaissance version of the flying pencil in Finnish service.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer AML is aimed at the reconnaissance form of the Dornier Do 17Z-3 bomber in the service of the Finnish Air Force. It is an accessory for a model in 1:72 scale that gives your build a less usual identity - the package does not take the place of the base Dornier kit.
The twin-engined Dornier Do 17, nicknamed the flying pencil for its slim fuselage, was one of the Luftwaffe's basic bombers at the start of the war. The Z-3 form was equipped for photographic reconnaissance. The Finnish Air Force took older Z series machines over from Germany during the Continuation War and used them among other things for reconnaissance flights; Finnish Dorniers thus stayed in action long after the Luftwaffe had withdrawn them from the front line. For a modeler it is a rewarding combination of a well-known type with an unusual operator.
A plan makes the conversion work easier: first decide where the model will change, and match the parts by sanding with dry runs in between. Finnish machines carried distinctive identification markings and specific camouflage patterns - always check the particular form against photographs of the machine and the period you have chosen, so that the result holds up even to the strict eye of a specialist in the northern air forces.
