A resin detail set from the brand CMK for plastic models of the twin-engined Douglas A-20 Havoc aircraft. It contains castings of underwing racks and aerial bombs with which a finished model is completed. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model of an aircraft: the basic kit has to be obtained separately. Judge the exact make-up of the package by what the manufacturer gives on the packaging.
The Douglas A-20 Havoc is an American twin-engined light bomber and attack aircraft with a tricycle undercarriage and a narrow fuselage, produced in large series and supplied in the time of the Second World War to Allied countries as well, where it was designated Boston. Besides the bomb bay in the fuselage, later versions also carried underwing racks, which raised the load and widened the possibilities of its employment. It is exactly these external stores stations that on ordinary kits are either simplified or missing altogether.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry before you reach for a primer. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw gradually, not all at once: with small parts such as racks the pin otherwise breaks off easily. Measure out the position of the racks first and mark it lightly, because on a finished wing the joint can no longer be shifted without damaging the varnish. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue and lay it on in a small quantity; a surplus on the surface goes matte and cannot be polished out. Paint the bombs away from the model, on a skewer, and set them in place only once the varnish and the patina are finished.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
