1:72 DRASH Shelter Transport Trailer is a resin model of a transport trailer for rapidly deployable military shelters in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The model captures the transport trailer on which rapidly deployable military shelters of the DRASH type are carried, in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory to equipment in its own right, not a part of a larger kit. In modeling practice it serves above all to fill out dioramas and vignettes with a field camp, a dressing station or a command post, where the shelters alone without matching transport equipment come across as out of place.
Rapidly deployable shelters are used by modern armies everywhere a covered workplace has to be put up within a few minutes and without heavy equipment. The load-bearing part is a folding space frame covered with a tarpaulin, which the crew opens out rather like an accordion. The units are joined into longer wholes and make up field command posts, sick bays or workshops. Transport is dealt with by specialized trailers onto which the folded structure is loaded and secured, so a unit is able to change position within a short time.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent first so that the remains of mold release agent disappear. Cut the casting blocks away with a saw and level the mating surfaces on sandpaper. Resin is joined with cyanoacrylate glue; lay a primer on the smooth surface. The trailer looks best with a hint of wear from service, that is with dust on the wheels and the running gear and with a weak dark wash in the recesses of the frame. Choose the color according to the army and the setting in which you place the scene.
