A resin set of radar and electronics for the Grumman E-2 Hawkeye in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Black Dog. An accessory for a plastic kit, not a standalone model of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on set in cast resin intended for a kit of the Grumman E-2 Hawkeye carrier early warning aircraft in 1:72 scale. According to the name it concentrates on the radar and electronic equipment, that is, on the areas that plastic kits usually treat only in a simplified way. The set does not replace the model: it is used together with the base kit. Behind the Black Dog marque stands a Czech manufacturer focused on resin accessories.
The Grumman E-2 Hawkeye is a carrier airborne early warning and control aircraft that has served since the 1960s and still flies today in modernized versions. Its distinguishing features are the rotating saucer-shaped radome carried above the fuselage, a pair of turboprop engines and four vertical tail surfaces, thanks to which the aircraft fits within the height of the hangar deck. The wing folds back alongside the fuselage. The task of the machine is to find air and surface targets and to coordinate the activity of other aircraft, which is what the extensive internal equipment of the operator stations serves.
First rid the castings of mold release agent by washing them in lukewarm soapy water. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw so that you do not damage the fine edges. Sand wet and protect your airways. Resin is bonded with super glue, and on critical joints epoxy will help. The electronic boxes and the instrument panels come into their own when you go over them with a dark wash after painting and accent the edges with a dry brush.
This is an accessory, not a complete kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. Check the match with your kit in advance.
