Eduard 1:72 F-100D Super Sabre is a photo-etched detail set, not a model. It adds fine metal details to a plastic F-100D Super Sabre kit that injection-molded plastic cannot manage.
Responsibility details are not available.
This product is not a kit but a photo-etched detail set in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. It contains fine etched parts that refine and bring a plastic F-100D Super Sabre model to life, adding and replacing details that injection-molded plastic cannot capture faithfully.
The North American F-100 Super Sabre was the first American production fighter capable of supersonic flight in level flight and belonged to the so-called Century series. The D version was a fighter-bomber, used among other things in the Vietnam War for attacks on ground targets. It was a rugged machine with a swept wing that formed the backbone of tactical aviation in the 1950s and 1960s.
The etched parts are intended for advanced modelers. The individual parts are separated from the fret with a sharp knife, bent on a photo-etch bender or over a sharp edge and joined with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); larger areas can also be soldered. Degrease the parts before gluing so that they hold well. The assembly is evened out by spraying a primer, followed by airbrushing and gentle highlighting with a wash. The set is an accessory for a plastic F-100D Super Sabre kit in 1:72 scale, which has to be obtained separately.
