The set belongs among resin details for aircraft and completes an already built model of the two-seat version of the Thunderchief in 1:72 scale. The name marks it as a set of ladders, that is, it allows for the fact that a two-seat machine needs access to both cockpits. The F-105G was the two-seat version of the fighter bomber Republic F-105 Thunderchief adapted for the suppression of ground air defenses. The rear seat was occupied by the operator of special equipment for finding radars, so outwardly the machine differs in a longer fuselage with a tandem cockpit and in the equipment on the outer pylons. For the ground crew that meant a different boarding procedure as well, because access to both seats had to be brought up to the aircraft.
Before gluing, hold the ladders against the model dry and check the height and the angle, so that they stand on the base on the whole of their feet and do not touch the fuselage at a single point. Cut the castings off with a fine-toothed saw, sand the surfaces and wash the whole thing in lukewarm soapy water because of the mold release. It is glued with cyanoacrylate; for accurate dosing, put it on a piece of plastic and carry it on the tip of a toothpick. Light gray or a metal shade with a very thinned dark wash will do for painting. If you are building the model into a vignette, add a trace of dust to the feet of the ladder, so that the accessory blends visually with the base.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
