An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Grumman F-14A carrier fighter in the US Navy version, in 1:72 scale, from Academy. The box holds plastic sprues, clear cockpit parts and a decal sheet for naval aviation. The model is assembled and painted.
The F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat carrier fighter of the US Navy with a distinctive variable-geometry wing that swept back and forward in flight according to speed. The A version was the basic production variant with two engines. The Tomcat served to defend the fleet and to engage air targets at long range, and it became one of the icons of carrier aviation.
Fit the moving wing carefully so that the two halves stay symmetrical; dry-fit the parts. Use thin cement for plastic, mask the cockpit glazing and glue it in at the end. We recommend a primer, airbrush application and gloss clear under the decals so that the naval markings settle cleanly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
