An injection-molded plastic kit of the American F-15E Strike Eagle multirole combat aircraft in 1:72 scale from Academy. The model captures the two-seat strike aircraft derived from the proven F-15 fighter airframe and carries its typical features - conformal fuel tanks (the FAST packs) along the fuselage, a two-seat cockpit and an extensive load of external stores. The kit offers finely divided surface detail and a decent level of detail, yet stays straightforward to build.
The F-15E Strike Eagle was created by developing the two-seat training version of the famous F-15 air superiority fighter into a powerful strike aircraft able to operate by day and by night and in any weather. The conformal fuel tanks carry fuel and pylons and considerably extend the range without the aircraft losing its agility. The rear crew member operates the systems for attacking ground targets. The machine combines air combat capability with heavy strikes against ground targets and serves with a number of air forces to this day.
Paint the two-seat cockpit and fit the instrument panels before you close up the fuselage. Mask the glazing of the large canopy and spray it together with the airframe, as a modern cockpit has prominent frames. Build up the gray tactical camouflage in fine layers and set the individual panels apart with light shading. Bring out the panel lines with a thin wash. Finish the extensive external stores and the tanks separately, set them apart in color and fit them at the very end so that they are not handled during the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
