Replacement exhaust nozzles for a model of the F-15E attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. This accessory set deals with the tail of the model, where the plastic parts tend to be shallow and coarse.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-15E came about as the two-seat strike version of the heavy F-15 fighter. It carries both bombs and guided weapons and reaches its target at night and in bad weather too. Power comes from two turbofans, and their exhaust nozzles show on the tail from every angle. On some aircraft the outer cover segments around the nozzles were removed, so the tail differs from aircraft to aircraft.
The set brings replacement exhaust nozzles for a 1:72 model. The segments have crisper edges and a thinner outline than the plastic parts, and the interior is deeper, so the view into the nozzle does not stop after a few millimeters and the tail of the model gives a deeper, more convincing impression.
The parts are not polystyrene and are bonded with super glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little short of the part and sand off the rest, above all on the mating surfaces. Wash and degrease the nozzles before painting. Spray the inside first; once it is seated in the fuselage you will not reach it. Shades with metallic pigment and fine shading toward the end of the nozzle suit the metal surfaces; check the degree of discoloration against photographs.
The set suits modelers who want to deal with the tail quickly and without making their own parts, and it also works well as a first experience of accessory sets. The work is straightforward, because it concerns only two self-contained assemblies. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
