1:72 F-15J Eagle 204 Sq. 10th Anniversary

Print Scale 1:72 F-15J Eagle, anniversary markings of the 204th Squadron

Waterslide decals in 1:72 scale for models of the Japanese F-15J Eagle fighter. The sheet focuses on the anniversary markings of the 204th Squadron of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. It is a standalone accessory that assumes you have your own model, paints and varnish, and it contains no parts of its own. Check exactly what is covered on the sheet against the illustration on the packaging.

About the unit and the real subject

The F-15J is the single-seat fighter version of the F-15 Eagle built in Japan under license. The 204th Squadron is among the units that operated this type over a long period and, like other Japanese squadrons, it prepared specially painted machines for anniversaries. Anniversary finishes usually cover the vertical tail surface, the fuselage spine and the ventral fins, and sometimes accompanying emblems on the nose. They are often combined with the standard two-tone gray scheme, so the model stays credible while still being eye-catching.

Print quality and storing the sheet

With anniversary markings, color registration and density are what count. Before you start work, hold the sheet up to the light and check that the outlines are sharp. Store unused decals flat, dry and out of direct sun, because the carrier film becomes brittle over time and the paper takes up moisture. Before applying, cut the decal out as tightly as possible so that a minimum of glossy film is left. Soak it for just a few seconds, let it rest on a paper towel and move it onto the model only once it starts to release on its own. Fine-tune the transitions with a softener and finally unify the surface with a clear coat.
