This is a resin (3D printed) replacement ACES II ejection seat meant to improve the cockpit of plastic models of the F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a separate accessory that replaces the simplified part from the box with a more faithful copy with sharply rendered harness, ejection handles and the texture of the padding. It is made by Special Hobby; the name states that the seat is intended for F-16 kits from Tamiya.
The ACES II (Advanced Concept Ejection Seat) is the standard ejection seat used by the whole family of American combat aircraft including the F-16. It is characterized by the shaped headrest, the four-point harness and the yellow and black operating handles. A faithful rendering of the seat lifts the look of an open cockpit considerably, and that is the most visible part of a model.
Carefully separate the part from the casting block, wash off any print resin residue and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. We recommend painting the seat before it is fitted into the cockpit; bring the harness and the handles out with a dry brush and a fine wash.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without glue; paints and glue are not included in the package.
