Quinta Studio 1:72 F-16A MLU - 3D interior decal brings factory color-printed, raised cockpit details on a flexible film on backing decal paper for F-16A MLU models.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a color 3D cockpit decal (a so-called 3D decal) from Quinta Studio in 1:72 scale. The details are printed on a flexible film in several layers, so the instrument panel and the side consoles look three-dimensional and more raised than on an ordinary decal. It is not a photo-etched fret or a resin casting, and it is not an aircraft kit, but an add-on set for refining the interior of an F-16A MLU model. The set is based on the cockpit of the F-16A MLU kit from Revell.
The Mid-Life Update program modernized European single-seat F-16As to a level close to the later production blocks, including new avionics and displays. Aircraft converted this way served with the Belgian, Dutch, Danish and Norwegian air forces, and their cockpit differs in detail from the early F-16A version.
The part is cut out, soaked in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the backing paper into place; the flexible layer conforms to the shape of the seat, the cockpit tub and the instrument panel. The element has no adhesive layer of its own; it holds on a gloss varnish of the Future or Klear type, or Tamiya X-22, and on uneven spots a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. The pre-printed colors need no painting and can be refined with drybrushing.
This is an add-on decal set, not an aircraft kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
