A resin cockpit detail set in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Aires. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the cockpit from a plastic kit with a more accurate replica. The set typically contains the instrument panel, the side panels, the ejection seat and further elements of the cockpit. It is made for the F-16CG and F-16CJ versions and meant for fitting into a matching plastic model.
The General Dynamics, later Lockheed Martin, F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-seat multirole fighter widespread with many air forces. The CG and CJ versions belong to the more advanced production blocks, with modernized avionics and expanded capability for strike and special tasks. The cockpit, with its large canopy and one-piece windscreen, offers a good view and is a rewarding place for detail.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off carefully and bond them with super glue. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The instruments come out after spraying with an airbrush and bringing them up with a dry brush and a wash. Dry-fit the parts before the fuselage is closed.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
