This detail set from the Czech brand Hauler focuses on the shelter body of the ZiL-131 truck. The photo-etched parts in thin sheet make it possible to replace or add to the simplified details of a kit with fine metal elements that look incomparably truer in 1:72 scale than thick injection-molded plastic. It is not a model of the vehicle in its own right but an accessory intended to be built into a ZiL-131 kit with a shelter body in 1:72 scale - we recommend checking compatibility with your particular kit before buying. The set is cut for the ICM kit.
The ZiL-131 was a Soviet off-road truck with all-wheel drive in a 6x6 layout, taken into service at the end of the 1960s. It became one of the most widespread military trucks of the Eastern bloc and served in the Czechoslovak army as well. The versions with a shelter body filled the roles of signals, command and workshop vehicles - the enclosed box with its windows, doors and ladder is characteristic of this form of the vehicle and offers plenty of room for detailing.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface and make the bends with tweezers or a bender along the lines marked. Glue with super glue in small amounts. Before painting, degrease the etch and apply a primer coat; once the base shade is on, bring the details out with a wash and a fine dry brush.
This is an accessory set, not a model of the vehicle in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package.
