A small preprinted photo-etch 1:72 for the pilot's space of the carrier-based F-35 C, fitted to the kit of the Tamiya brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The carrier variant of the fifth generation differs from the land-based one more than it seems at first glance. It received a substantially larger lifting surface with folding wingtips, strengthened legs of the landing gear, an arrestor hook under the tail and a nose leg prepared for a catapult bar. The larger wing brought the landing speed down and lengthened the range, and the price for it was a higher empty weight and slower agility in hard turns. The type entered combat readiness in 2021 and became the first machine with a reduced radar signature to serve from the carriers of the US Navy.
The package consists of a compact sheet of thin metal whose face side is screen printed. The displays, the frames and the safety belts thus arise without mixing paint. At this scale it is the fastest way to get readable information into a very small space which would be painted with a brush only with difficulty.
The sheet is of minimal thickness, so cut it supported and bend it over a metal ruler or in a bending tool. Roughen the contact area on the plastic with fine abrasive paper and free it of grease, otherwise the super glue holds only seemingly. Leave the belts loose for a while after gluing and only then shape them with tweezers into a natural sag. Try the assembled pilot's space dry in the fuselage before you glue the halves together, because once it has dried nothing can be done about the position of the panel.
