An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Italeri. It captures the F-35A version, that is, the variant with conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) from land airfields. The model is built from plastic parts and is supplemented with a decal sheet of markings.
The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a single-seat, single-engine fifth-generation fighter with reduced radar signature. The F-35A version is the most widespread and serves with air forces as a multirole machine for air combat as well as attacks on ground targets. Unlike the B variant (short takeoff and vertical landing) it takes off and lands conventionally from a runway and carries an internal gun.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic. For a low-observable finish an airbrush and fine gray shades with panel transitions work well. Coat the surfaces with gloss varnish before the decals, settle the decals and finally even everything out with matte or semi-gloss varnish. Bring out the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
