A resin detail set, not an aircraft kit. This set in finely cast resin refines the control surfaces of the American Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat carrier fighter in 1:72 scale. It replaces the parts from the box with faithfully rendered ailerons, elevator and rudder with a fine texture of ribs and skin and makes it possible to fit them in a deflected position. The set is intended for more advanced modelers with resin experience.
Deflected control surfaces give a static model dynamism at once and show careful work. The casting faithfully captures the texture of the skin as well as the thin trailing edges, which are hard to create from solid plastic. Once painted and lightly weathered, the transitions between the fixed and the movable part look completely natural and set off the rugged shapes of this early US Navy carrier fighter.
