It is not an airplane kit but a resin accessory that replaces the part from the plastic kit with a more faithful shape and fine surface detail. It is made by Quickboost, a brand of the Aires company.
The Grumman F4F Wildcat was an American single-engine carrier fighter with a radial engine, flown from aircraft carriers in the early years of the Second World War in the Pacific. It was sturdy and resilient, which made it a dependable machine of its day. The tail surfaces are a rewarding place to raise the level of detail on a model.
Wash the resin casting in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent. Cut off the casting block and clean up the surface, then bond the part with super glue (cyanoacrylate). A thin wash will bring out the fine ribbing of the covering. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
