An injection-molded plastic kit of the American F4U-1A Corsair carrier fighter in 1:72 scale from Tamiya. The model offers the typically precise Tamiya execution with finely engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit and clear canopy parts. Check the exact contents of the box and the number of parts in the enclosed instructions.
The Vought F4U Corsair was among the highest-performing carrier fighters of the Second World War and is easy to recognize by its inverted gull wing. It was powered by a large radial engine, which made it one of the fastest piston fighters of its day. Compared with early machines, the F4U-1A version brought a raised pilot's seat and a reworked canopy with a better view. It was deployed above all in the Pacific with the US Navy and Marine Corps.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic, and the fine and clear parts preferably with cyanoacrylate. Paint the cockpit and the instrument panel and add the detail before closing the fuselage; the clear canopy can be protected with a mask while spraying. Use a primer base, airbrush the paints and bring out the panel lines with a light wash. Fit the external stores and the small parts only after painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
