This is NOT an aircraft model but a resin detail accessory from Eduard in 1:72 scale. The set contains the main landing gear wheels for the Grumman F6F Hellcat fighter with a faithful tire tread and detailed hubs. The castings usually imitate a slightly flattened (loaded) tire, which gives the model the look of an aircraft standing on the ground.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American carrier fighter of the Second World War, powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine. It became one of the most successful carrier fighters of the US Navy in the Pacific. Its rugged structure and reliability made it a favorite with its pilots.
Wash the resin wheels free of mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off carefully and sand with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the tires dark gray (not pure black) and the hubs in the shade of the particular machine; dry-brush the tread to bring it out.
This is a resin add-on set, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
