A die-cut self-adhesive masking set for the Dutch Fokker D.XXI fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Peewit. It is not an aircraft model but a set of precisely cut masks of fine masking tape, which make it easier to spray the frames of the canopy and other areas cleanly, without the laborious hand cutting of tape.
The Fokker D.XXI was a Dutch fighter of the second half of the 1930s, recognizable by its unbraced wing and by its fixed, often aerodynamically faired landing gear. The Dutch Air Force put it into action in 1940, and it was also widespread in Finland and Denmark. Despite its simple structure it proved itself in defensive fighting in the hands of experienced pilots. An enclosed cockpit with a multi-part canopy is a typical place where accurate masks pay off.
Transfer the masks to a perfectly clean and degreased surface, place them exactly and press the edges down carefully with a toothpick or a burnisher so that paint does not run under them. First spray the interior shade of the framing, then, once it has dried, the exterior color, and take the masks off before the paint has fully cured. Any glue residue can be removed by gently moistening it.
The set contains self-adhesive masks; it is not a model and not a kit. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
