An injection-molded plastic kit of the French light infantry tank Renault R40 armed with the 37 mm SA18 gun in 1:72 scale from the Polish manufacturer First to Fight. The set follows on from a line of easily built models and is laid out so that the build is accessible even to less experienced modelers. The moldings allow for the different running gear of the R40 version.
The Renault R40 was the final development stage of the Renault R35 line of light tanks. It was given a new, more capable chassis with vertical springs, which improved its handling off road. The short 37 mm SA18 gun was meant above all to support infantry. The French Army used the tanks in the campaign of 1940.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid cement for plastic. The smaller number of parts makes the build easier, but still pay attention to the fit of the tracks and the turret. For a faithful look apply a primer and the base French shade, and add washes and pigments for mud effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
