This product is a set of vacuum-formed (vacuform) clear canopies in 1:72 scale for models of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 aircraft in the A, D and F versions from the Rob Taurus brand. It is not an aircraft model or a kit, but stand-alone clear parts replacing the standard canopies on several versions of the Fw 190.
The Fw 190 was among the most successful German fighters of the Second World War. The A version was the fighter with a radial engine, the Dora (D) had a V engine and a lengthened shape, and the F version was intended for attacks on ground targets. The shape of the canopy differs from version to version.
Vacuum-formed canopies have thinner walls and greater clarity than injection-molded parts. Each is cut out with a sharp knife along the engraved outline, the edges are sanded down to an exact fit, and for maximum transparency the part can be dipped in gloss varnish. They are bonded with PVA canopy glue or with a minimum of super glue.
These are stand-alone accessories (clear canopies), not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
