An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Brummbär (Sturmpanzer IV) heavy assault gun in the late production form, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the reworked armored superstructure of the late series with a bow machine gun and carries a short 15 cm howitzer. The tracks are of the flexible (vinyl) type, and a decal sheet is included.
The Brummbär was a heavy assault armored vehicle built on the chassis of the Panzer IV tank and armed with the 15 cm StuH 43 assault howitzer. It served for direct fire support of the infantry and for destroying fortifications in fighting in towns. The late production series differed from the older ones in a reworked superstructure with a machine gun in the front wall for defense against infantry and in a simplified structure for easier manufacture.
Assemble the running gear before closing up the hull. The massive superstructure is a rewarding place for the texture of a concrete or Zimmerit surface, if you want to reproduce it. Use thin cement, a primer and an airbrush; you will create the weathering with dark washes into the seams and pigments for dust and mud on the running gear and the sides.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
