US GP 100lb AN-M30A1 bombs (10 pieces) is a resin accessory in 1:72 — a set of ten American general purpose bombs from Brengun.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory holds ten American general purpose bombs designated AN-M30A1 of the 100 pound weight class in 1:72 scale. The number of pieces is stated directly in the name. It is not a model of an aircraft but armament to be hung under one or carried in the bomb bay. Ten pieces in one package are enough even for a multiple rack or for filling out a diorama scene beside an aircraft.
Bombs of the 100 pound weight class were among the lightest American general purpose aerial bombs of the Second World War. They were used where a large caliber was not needed and where a greater number of hits was counted on — which is why they were often carried in whole series. On a model they suit fighter-bombers and light and medium bombers alike; a greater number of small bombs is in fact more rewarding visually than one large one.
With a ten-piece set it pays to work in series: wash all the castings first, then cut the casting blocks off in one go, true the mating surfaces and only then paint. Stick the bombs on skewers or wires pushed into polystyrene foam — you will spray them all at once from every side and will not have to hold them. They glue with super glue. For an even spacing of the bombs on a rack, make yourself a paper template, otherwise the row will look out of true.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
