This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss represents the German Munitionsschlepper ammunition carrier built on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw. IV tank in its Ausf. D/E version. The model is built from gray molded plastic, and the box holds flexible tracks, decals and illustrated instructions. Check the exact contents against the release.
The Munitionsschlepper were transport and loading vehicles intended to supply the massive Mörser Karl-Gerät self-propelled mortars with ammunition. They were created by converting a limited number of Pz.Kpfw. IV chassis of the D, E and F versions from regular production. In place of the turret the vehicle carried a superstructure for transporting heavy rounds and a crane for handling them up to the mortar.
On this vehicle it is worth assembling and fine-tuning the running gear before the hull is closed. Bond the plastic with thin modeling cement, lay down primer and spray the paints with an airbrush. Weathering and dusting can be brought out with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
