German staff tent type 1 1:72 is a one-piece resin casting from Metallic Details for dioramas in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit of equipment but a diorama accessory. It is a finished resin casting of a German military tent of the Second World War period in 1:72 scale that needs no assembly. The part measures roughly 37x35x25 mm. It is supplied unpainted, and paints are not included in the package. The casting has the folds of the canvas, the guy lines and the tension over the poles modeled in, so once it is painted it looks like a real tent rather than a geometric shape.
Canvas tents were a basic part of the field support of armies in the first half of the 20th century. They served as command and staff workplaces, shelter for gun crews, a field workshop, a store for materiel or a dressing station. They were pitched on wooden or metal poles, tensioned with lines and pegged into the ground; the canvas was in a camouflage pattern or in a plain earth shade. In 1:72 scale a tent is a practical element of a scene: it fills an area, gives the composition height and provides a model of equipment with the context of a field position without having to build a structure.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release agent is removed. Cut any casting block off with a saw and level the underside with sanding paper so that the tent does not rock on its base; wear respiratory protection while sanding resin. It is glued to the scene with cyanoacrylate glue. After the primer, lay down the base shade of the canvas, then a lighter dry brush on the ridges of the folds and a dark wash into their depths, as it is exactly this contrast that turns resin into textile. Dust the lower hem with pigments and add static grass and small clutter around the tent.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
