A supplementary decal sheet in 1:72 scale for the Gloster Gladiator. It holds roundels and separate characters for identification letters and serial numbers.
Responsibility details are not available.
The decals from a kit as a rule cover two to three variants and another machine cannot be built from them. This sheet solves that problem differently: instead of a finished marking it offers a kit of characters. From roundels, separate letters and numerals you put together the marking of the aircraft you need, or replace an element that did not come off during application. The exact breakdown of the sizes and quantities of the elements is given by the manufacturer in the instructions.
The Gloster Gladiator belonged to the second half of the 1930s and was the last biplane fighter in the service of the Royal Air Force. Alongside home service it also reached other users, so its models carry a great many different combinations of national insignia and codes. That is precisely why it pays to have a general set of characters at hand with this type.
The elements are applied by soaking. Cut them out tightly by the artwork, soak them briefly in lukewarm water and let them rest until the backing comes loose; then slide them onto the model. The surface under the decal should be smooth and glossy, otherwise the edge of the film will silver. Soak the water away with a towel, and decal softener will help bridge unevennesses of the surface. Apply the characters one at a time, set the direction of the line out with lightly stuck tape and fine-tune the position while the decal is damp. At the end, spray the model over with the final varnish.
The sheet of decals alone is supplied. The model, paints, varnish and decal softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
