An injection-molded plastic model of the British Gloster Meteor TT Mk.20 jet aircraft in its target tug version, in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Special Hobby. Besides finely shaped plastic parts, the set also contains 3D-printed parts for the winch and the target towing equipment, which is what makes this Meteor the TT (Target Tug) version. The box holds decals for several marking options from different countries.
The Gloster Meteor was the first British jet fighter in operational service. As the older airframes left the front line, some of them were converted into target tugs for anti-aircraft and air gunnery practice, towing a target behind them on a long cable. The TT Mk.20 version came from a conversion of two-seat night fighters and served with the Royal Navy and with other operators as well.
Glue the plastic parts with a thin cement for plastic. First wash the 3D-printed parts free of uncured print resin residue, separate them carefully from the print supports and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways while sanding. Mask the canopy glazing. Target tugs often carried conspicuous warning stripes, and accurate masking and an airbrush are the way to do those.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
