Resin wheels with weighted tires for the Grumman F-14A and F-14B Tomcat in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand Armory. The accessory replaces the wheels from the plastic kit; there is no aircraft model in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of wheels for a model of the American Grumman F-14 carrier fighter in the A and B versions, in 1:72 scale. The tires are cast with the flattening at the point of contact with the ground, and a casting holds sharper detail on the rim than an injection mold allows. The manufacturer makes the sets for the A and B versions separately from the set for the later D version, so check before ordering which form of the machine your model builds.
The F-14 Tomcat was a twin-engine carrier-based fighter with a variable-geometry wing and a crew of two, designed to defend a carrier group at long range. It carried exceptionally long-ranged guided missiles and, thanks to a powerful radar, could track several targets at once. The F-14A was the first production form, while the B version received new engines that removed the most criticized weakness of the type. The aircraft was active from the 1970s until the middle of the 2000s and remains one of the most popular subjects of all.
Wash the castings with warm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and do not snap them. Resin is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; the kind for plastic will not hold on it. Separate the rim from the tire by masking. Carrier aircraft are usually visibly worn: a dark glaze in the tread and fine streaks of brake dust work well on the wheels. The flattened patch has to lie parallel with the ground so that the model does not stand at an angle on a deck or on a base.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
