Grumman FM-2 Wildcat in 1:72 scale is a set of self-adhesive Eduard masking templates for the glazing and the wheels. It is an accessory for painting, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory, not a model. The package contains a sheet of precisely die-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazing of the cockpit and for the tires. Eduard makes them from thin masking paper of the Japanese type, which gives way readily to a curve, can be pressed into a corner and leaves no adhesive on the clear coat after removal. It is precisely this combination of pliability and clean removal that is the reason masking paper is used in modeling more often than ordinary adhesive tape from a stationer's.
First degrease the surface, ideally with pure alcohol, and let it dry. Lift the mask off the sheet with the tip of a knife or with tweezers and lay it on without stretching it. Press the edge down along its whole length: the paint always runs under only where the mask has not seated. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats perpendicular to the surface. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, and do it slowly, at a sharp angle back over itself, not straight upward: that way the edge of the clear coat stays clean and is not torn away. Any remains of surplus adhesive on the glazing, should any arise, can be carefully wiped off with a cotton swab moistened in alcohol.
The package contains masking templates only. The model, paints and glue are not part of it.
