This sizable and richly broken down model offers movable variable-geometry wings, a detailed cockpit, worked-out landing gear, photo-etched parts and a rich load of external stores. The F-14 Tomcat was an American two-seat carrier fighter with variable-geometry (swing) wings, for decades the backbone of the fighter defense of American aircraft carriers. The F-14D Super Tomcat version was the final and most capable form of the type; it was given new engines, updated avionics and digital systems. The Tomcat became famous for its long range and for its ability to carry heavy long-range air-to-air missiles.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and the photo-etched and clear parts with super glue. Paint the cockpit and the instrument panels before the fuselage is closed; the cockpit can be built open and protected with a mask during spraying. Assemble the swing wing mechanism carefully so that it stays movable. Fit the external stores and the tanks only after painting; modern gray camouflages come out well after a gentle emphasis on the panels with a wash. We recommend a base (primer) and an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
