It is a short run, so the parts as a rule call for more cleaning up and dry fitting than an ordinary production kit.
The Gulfstream G550 is a twin-engined long-range jet airplane, originally intended for corporate transport. The combination of a great range, a high ceiling and a roomy fuselage made it a popular platform for special tasks. The Israeli Air Force operates several machines modified in this way under the collective designation Nachshon; the Shavit version serves for tasks of electronic reconnaissance and is told from the civil G550 above all by the fairings and antenna covers on the fuselage. The particular equipment of the individual machines is not made public, so they can be told apart mainly by external features.
With an airplane of civil shape the smoothness of the surface decides: fill the joints of the fuselage and sand them down with progressively finer grits, so that a smooth gloss is kept. The glazing of the cockpit and the row of windows are worth masking carefully, best with tape cut to butt exactly, and gluing in only after the base coat has been sprayed. Apply a gloss varnish before the decals and once it has dried unify the surface with a satin one according to the subject. On an airplane with nose landing gear, try the balance dry before closing the fuselage and add weight to the nose if need be.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
