A resin detail accessory of the Quickboost brand, made by Aires, in 1:72 scale. This is not an aircraft model but a Rotol type propeller for the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I version, completed with a jig for gluing the blades precisely at the correct angle. The fine castings have a faithful shape of both the blades and the spinner.

The real subject

The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-seat fighter of the Second World War with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. Some of the Mk.I machines used the variable-pitch Rotol propeller with its characteristic shape of blades and spinner.

Building and painting tips

Wash the mold release residue off the parts and carefully separate the casting blocks. Seat the blades in the enclosed jig, which secures the correct angle, and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding.
