The Sea Harrier FRS Mk.1 1:72 from Hasegawa — an injection-molded plastic kit of a British naval fighter with vertical take-off and landing.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Hawker Sea Harrier FRS Mk.1 carrier fighter in 1:72 scale from the Japanese firm Hasegawa. It is the naval version intended for operation from aircraft carriers, different from the land-based GR attack version. The package is made up of injection-molded plastic sprues, a clear cockpit canopy and a set of decals.
The Sea Harrier FRS Mk.1 was a naval fighter of the Royal Navy with vertical or short take-off and landing, which took off from the decks of aircraft carriers, often with the help of a ski-jump ramp at the bow. Unlike the land-based version it had a raised cockpit with a better view, a radar in the nose and armament for naval air combat. It became famous above all in the defense of the task force during the Falklands conflict, where it protected the ships against enemy aircraft and proved the concept of a light carrier fighter viable.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. Finish the cockpit before closing up the fuselage and mask the clear canopy. Apply a primer and spray the naval gray schemes with an airbrush in thin coats. Assemble the vectoring nozzles and the external stores separately. The engraved lines are brought out with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
