An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Heinkel He 162A Spatz jet fighter in 1:72 scale from Special Hobby. The Captured Birds edition brings decal schemes for captured machines that the Allies tested after the war. We recommend checking the exact package contents and the number of schemes for this item against the particular box.
The Heinkel He 162 was a German single-engined jet fighter of the very end of the Second World War, developed in an extremely short time as a cheap and quickly built people's fighter. The engine mounted above the fuselage, the wooden parts of the structure and the small dimensions were typical of it. It took part in the fighting only marginally; after the war several captured machines were flown and tested by the Allies in Great Britain, France, the United States and the Soviet Union.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic, and fit the small parts of the landing gear and the controls carefully. Fit the cockpit glazing with masks for clean framing. Paint the interior of the cockpit before you close the fuselage up. Captured machines often carried Allied national insignia over the original finish, so lay a gloss varnish down before the decals and pick the panel lines out with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
