It is therefore a reconstruction of a design, not a model of an existing production machine. The basic Heinkel He 162 was a light single-seat jet fighter from the end of the Second World War, characterized by the engine nacelle mounted above the fuselage, twin rudders and the wooden construction of a large part of the airframe. The concept came about as an answer to a requirement for a simple and quickly producible machine. The B series was a projected development of this concept and stayed at the design stage: it reached neither a prototype nor production. Models of this kind are described in modeling as aircraft that never took off, and they are rewarding precisely because they leave room for your own take on the finish.
Kits of this type are glued with a thin cement for polystyrene, which is drawn into the joint by wicking. Before painting we recommend spraying the whole airframe with a filler primer, as it reveals the scratches and imperfect joints, which can then be sanded down easily. A jet aircraft with smooth surfaces rewards careful spraying with an airbrush and fine shading of the panels. On a reconstruction of an unrealized project, choose the finish according to the schemes enclosed by the maker, but your own invention is legitimate here.
