Decals for German tanks and armored vehicles in Hungary 1944 to 1945 in 1:72 scale are the first part of a series devoted to the closing fighting on Hungarian territory.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of decals from Star Decals brings the markings of German tanks and armored vehicles from the fighting on Hungarian territory between 1944 and 1945. It is an addition for the model you are building, not the kit itself. The series on this theme goes on with further parts, so it can be followed up.
The fighting moved onto Hungarian territory in the autumn of 1944, when the German formations withdrew here from Debrecen. There followed the long siege of Budapest and, in March 1945, the last large German attack in the area of Lake Balaton. The hardware that got into these clashes came from various units and was mixed in age and condition as well, so in one place you will meet machines from several production periods side by side. That is precisely why markings are so rewarding on models from this sector of the front: they tend to be the only guide to who a vehicle belonged to.
The winter and transitional finishes from this period tend to be uneven and scuffed, which makes seating a design harder. It pays, therefore, to apply the markings onto a glossy intermediate coat before you set about scuffs and smears. Only once everything is fixed does wear come in turn, which may cover part of the insignia over.
