A resin detail set, not an aircraft kit. This set in finely cast resin refines the control surfaces of the Soviet Polikarpov I-153 Chaika fighter biplane in 1:72 scale. It replaces the parts from the box with faithfully rendered ailerons, elevator and rudder with a fine texture of ribs and fabric skin and makes it possible to fit them in a deflected position. The set is intended for more advanced modelers with resin experience.
On a biplane with largely fabric skin, a faithful texture of the movable surfaces is the key to a realistic result. The casting captures the sag of the fabric between the ribs as well as the thin trailing edges, which are hard to achieve in plastic. Deflected surfaces also give a static model a lively, active impression that suits the characteristic gulled upper wing of this machine.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
