An exactly cast resin control lever for the cockpit of the Soviet Polikarpov I-153 biplane in 1:72 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part that will replace the coarser or simplified plastic lever from the base kit and so refine the look of the open cockpit. It is not a standalone airplane model but an accessory for a more accurate interior.
The Polikarpov I-153 Chaika was a Soviet single-seat biplane fighter of the late 1930s with a characteristic cranked gull-shaped upper wing and retractable landing gear. It was powered by a radial engine and was used, among other places, in the fighting at Khalkhin Gol and in the early stages of the war on the Eastern Front. The open cockpit of this aircraft is clearly visible on a built model, which is why detailed cockpit fittings are worth the effort.
Resin parts call for more careful work than plastic: first wash them to remove mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting block (the gate) and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Separate the tiny lever with a delicate touch, it is fragile. Protect your airways while sanding. Apply a primer before painting, then paint the part in the interior shade and bring it out with a dry brush.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
