Wheels with weighted tires for the Ilyushin Il-28 Beagle in 1:72 scale from Armory is a resin set that replaces the plastic landing gear wheels in a model of the first Soviet mass-produced jet bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of replacement landing gear wheels for a 1:72 model of the Il-28 bomber. This is not an airplane kit but an accessory for a model you already own. According to the manufacturer the tires are cast as weighted, with a flattened contact patch like the one a wheel takes under the weight of the aircraft. The manufacturer describes the set as universal; dry-fit the shape of the landing gear legs against your own kit. Check the contents of the set on the box.
The Il-28 was the first Soviet jet bomber built in large numbers. It had a straight wing, two engines in nacelles underneath it, a crew of three and a tail gun position with a pair of cannons, a solution that still followed the postwar idea of how a bomber should defend itself. It entered service in the early 1950s, flew in reconnaissance and training versions and was widespread in a number of allied countries; it was also built under license in China. Its long service and varied camouflage schemes make it a popular subject, and worn landing gear shows off well on it.
For builders of postwar jets who find the tread on the plastic wheels too soft, and for diorama builders with a parking apron. Working with resin calls for super glue and careful cleaning of the parts.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
