Responsibility details are not available.
A set of cut self-adhesive masks from Peewit for a model of the Soviet Yakovlev Yak-1 fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory that makes it easier to spray the frames of the canopy and the other glazed areas cleanly. The masks follow the shape of the frames of a particular kit exactly, so the slow business of edging by hand with a brush falls away.
The Yakovlev Yak-1 was one of the main Soviet fighters of the beginning of the Second World War. It was a single-engine low-wing fighter of mixed wood and metal construction, which became the basis of the whole successful Yak family of fighters and was deployed in large numbers on the Eastern Front.
Apply the masks to a clean, degreased and dry surface and press their edges down well so that no paint creeps under them. Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush at a lower pressure. Mask the cockpit frames part by part and let each color set in between. Remove the masks while the paint is still fresh, so that they do not lift a dried coat.
This is a masking set, not a model. The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the package.
