Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the single-seat Mitsubishi F-15J fighter in 1:72 scale. It is released by the Japanese brand FineMolds, which has long focused on modern Japanese aviation. The Early Version designation in the name says that the boxing aims at the early form of the machine, not at the later upgraded shape.
The F-15J is the Japanese license-built counterpart of the American single-seat F-15C Eagle fighter. The airframe was built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and the pair of afterburning F100-family jet engines was supplied by a Japanese license producer. The type entered service at the beginning of the 1980s and for long decades became the main means of Japanese air defense. Its everyday work was scramble takeoffs to identify aircraft approaching Japanese airspace, which the name of the edition refers to as well. Early production machines differ from the later upgraded ones in cockpit equipment and in small details on the airframe.
Finish the cockpit and the nose gear bay before you glue the fuselage halves together. The seams on the air intakes and at the wing joint deserve patient sanding, because otherwise they will show through under gloss varnish. Japanese gray camouflage comes out well when individual panels are gently shaded with a lighter tone. Apply gloss varnish before laying the decals and give the finished surface a matte coat at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
