1:72 JDS Hatsuyuki DD-122 2010 is an acrylic display base with the deck of the lead ship of a Japanese destroyer class.
Responsibility details are not available.
An acrylic base 280 x 180 millimeters, thickness three millimeters, 170 grams. The subject belongs to the destroyer with the hull number DD-122, that is the unit the whole class is named after, in its form from the year 2010.
The Hatsuyuki entered service at the start of the 1980s and became the pattern for a whole series of further hulls of the same design. During a long career it went through several modernizations and its after deck took in various generations of shipboard helicopters in turn. The year in the designation therefore sets not only the ship but also the particular period to which the appearance of the surface relates, which with a late form of the unit is a substantial difference. A collector thus knows which stage to relate the appearance of the surface to.
Several similar deck boards exist, so a display mapping the change of the fleet can be put together from them. Side by side, the differences in markings, in the layout of the after part and in the machines that operated from there stand out. Anyone who collects this systematically will appreciate the uniform thickness of the material, thanks to which all the models stand at the same height and the grouping comes across as a whole.
Only the display base is enclosed; the package hides nothing else.
