A masking set for spraying the national insignia and other markings on a Kawasaki Ki-48 Lily model in 1:72 scale, the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Kawasaki Ki-48 was a Japanese twin-engine light bomber to which the Allies assigned the code name Lily. It served from the end of the 1930s and was among the types the Japanese army deployed over the mainland and over the islands of the Pacific. Japanese machines carried large national insignia and colored markings, so on a model they contribute to the final impression more than on the aircraft of other countries.
Masking parts for spraying the national insignia and other markings on the Kawasaki Ki-48 kit in 1:72 scale from Hasegawa. The markings are therefore not applied as decals but laid on with paint through a mask, directly onto the surface of the model.
Apply the mask only to a dry base coat. Press the edges down with a toothpick all the way around, so that paint cannot creep under them, and spray in several thin coats instead of one heavy one. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has set, while the edge is still soft. Sprayed markings have no carrier membrane, so they do not shine on a matte finish.
The set is for modelers who want their markings sprayed and not applied. The position cannot be corrected once the mask has been applied, so plan the placement on a dry model first. Reckon also with needing the color of the insignia prepared separately; a different shade from the surrounding camouflage is sprayed through the mask.
The package contains the masking parts only. The kit and the paints are not included, unless stated otherwise.
