Eduard 1:72 Ki-49 Helen masks is a cut self-adhesive masking set in kabuki tape for masking the cockpit glazing and wheels of a model of the Japanese bomber. It is not a model but an accessory that makes painting easier.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holds precisely cut self-adhesive masks in fine Japanese kabuki tape for a model of the Nakajima Ki-49 heavy bomber in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit or a finished model but an accessory that makes masking easier and more accurate while spraying paint.
The masks are stuck onto the frames of the divided glazing of the cockpit and the gun positions and onto the wheel hubs, so that after spraying the glazing stays clear and the tires free of paint. Kabuki tape conforms well to curved shapes, holds tightly and leaves no adhesive when peeled off. The richly glazed nose thus comes out with sharp straight frames and no cutting of tape by hand.
The Nakajima Ki-49 Donryu, Allied code name Helen, was a Japanese twin-engine heavy bomber of the Japanese Army Air Force. Compared with earlier types it had heavier armor and defense, but its weaker range and load-carrying qualities limited its success.
The set holds only the cut masking parts. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
