This resin set from the Quickboost brand, made by the Czech manufacturer Aires, brings faithfully cast landing lights for a model of the American twin-engine bomber North American B-25 Mitchell in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a small detail accessory for more experienced modelers, replacing the simplified plastic parts with a casting that has a suggested reflector. The wing leading edge gains finer and more three-dimensional detail.
The North American B-25 Mitchell was an American twin-engine medium bomber and one of the most widely used Allied bombers of the Second World War. It became famous for the raid on Tokyo and served on every front, both as a conventional bomber and as a strafer with heavy gun armament in the nose.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off carefully and sand the cut surfaces with your airways protected. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It is worth backing the reflector with silver paint so that the light reflects realistically once flooded with clear varnish.
The set is supplied as a resin part, unassembled and unpainted. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a plastic kit. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
